Autumnal dreams and gratuitous thighs.

As the vibrant lush of summer gives way to the burnt tones of a sweltering autumn, I have dreams to make reality.

So long to the long days, sun kissed skin and snogging on rooftops. Hello to the never ending nights, carrasses in dark corners and secret silks hidden beneath boots and jumpers. This time of year is my favourite, for many reasons. I much prefer the subtext to the glaringly obvious. Wearing a snug sweater as I sip on a whisky by your side only to then reveal the workmanship of finer hands than mine holding my bosom aloft. A whisper is far more seductive than a scream, the waft of my perfume as I remove my coat to join you for a late night dinner. The subtle glances as I peak at you from behind my menu with a wink. Flirting in a language that makes both our hearts sing as we converse over topics we both share a passion for. Or maybe you are going to give me the privilege of learning all about your life and loves?

Autumn in the city, there is no comparison. The bustle of the streets as weave through them hand in hand. Seasonal dishes that make the mouth water providing the perfect appetiser. Slow, long and deep kissing; tangled in the bedsheets now that the humidity is broken and we can bare ourselves perversely, proud in our endeavours. For dates in the autumn there is always a comfort, a lingering warmth still quaking in our bones yet the world around us is fluttering away into shadows. When it comes to planning the perfect time to make a first acquaintance, it is now. We are naturally entering towards the end of the planets cycle, as it does every year. We’ve lived, languished and done a lot more than l’amour. Now is the time to see through those hopes and dreams we had for this year, before it’s all over and we are onto another one.

New connections and old connections. Whether we have never met or it’s been a while. Tis the season for absolute commitment to making sure this year ends with at least one memorable evening to cherish from it. September - November is littered with opportunities, as golden as the leaves yet to begin their fall from the trees. Each one an idea, a chance at something tangible.. all you have to do is bend down and pick it up. Or send that email. What is written on your token? Is it a theatre date with a thespian beauty? Perhaps it’s breakfast in bed after a wild night of passionate love making where clothing was an option quickly discarded? With each dying breath of the years last hurrah, ideas and promises litter our streets. But it’s in the sheets where you should find me.

My autumnal diary is open and I am delirious with all the thoughts of dates i’m yet to have. Dreams of dates I know we are destined to have together keep my mind burning with mad curiosity. Thighs itching to wrap around a masculine body, a flip of a coin whether I am conqueror or to be conquered?

As we slip quickly towards my name sake, let’s make the most of this beautiful season. This quote says it all really..

‘‘The first breath of autumn was in the air, a prodigal feeling, a feeling of wanting, taking, and keeping before it is too late.’’ - J.L Carr, ‘‘A month in the country’’

Yours with love,

Winter Woods
